West
Norriton Township
established in 1909, Norriton Township was divided into
West and East Norriton Townships. West Norriton Township
became a first class township on November 15, 1924,
when its population exceeded the required density of
300 persons per square mile. The 2000 Census of Population
indicated 14,901 persons resided within the Township.
This yields a density of 2,578 persons per square mile,
which ranks the Township twenty-fourth in population
density within Montgomery County.
