Mission & Purpose

The practice or policy of engaging in discriminationor discriminatory practices against any individual or group, because of actualor perceived race, color, age, religious creed, ancestry, sex, national origin,handicap or use of guide or support animals because of blindness, deafness orphysical handicap of the user or because the user is a handler or trainer ofsupport or guide animals, or because of an individual’s sexual orientation,gender identity or gender expression is a matter of highest public concern, andconstitutes a paramount threat to the rights, privileges, peace and good orderof the citizens of West Norriton Township and to guests and visitors of WestNorriton Township, that undermines the basic tenets of our freedom as citizensof the United States, and is utterly without place in this Township, which hasa storied tradition of fiercely defending the individual rights of its citizens.

The Township of West Norriton findsthat it is of high public importance to adopt appropriate legislation to insurethat all persons, regardless of actual or perceived race, color, age, religiouscreed, ancestry, sex, national origin, handicap, use of guide or supportanimals because of blindness, deafness or physical handicap of the user or theuser is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals, or sexualorientation, gender identity or gender expression enjoy the full benefits ofcitizenship and are afforded equal opportunities for employment, housing andpublic accommodation.
