A study conducted by the White House in 2010 found a 400% increase in the treatment of substance abuse for people addicted to prescription pain relievers. Other studies have shown a large percentage of school age and young adults (18 -25 year olds) have abused amphetamines, tranquilizers and pain relievers due to their availability in the home. The Partnership For A Drug-Free America states that every day 2,500 kids abuse prescription drugs for the first time.
